Instructor Vince DelVecchio is a veteran competitor and instructor with Saber Light Knights Academy, bringing experience, intensity, and a competitive mindset to both the training floor and the tournament ring.
Vince has represented Saber Light Knights and Virginia at major saber competitions, testing himself against high-level fighters from across the country. A determined and disciplined competitor, he is known for his willingness to take on difficult opponents and continually refine his game through both training and competition.
At SaberStrong 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee, Vince advanced out of the opening rounds and into the tournament bracket. His run carried him to the quarterfinals, where he faced Florida’s Jared Graham in a close 8–6 battle. The performance demonstrated Vince’s ability to compete deep into a strong national field and remain dangerous against experienced opponents. Vince is also the reining Praxeum War Mixed Weapons Champion.
Vince’s contribution to Saber Light Knights extends well beyond his own tournament results. As an Instructor, he helps SLK fighters develop the fundamentals, tactical awareness, discipline, and adaptability necessary to succeed in competitive saber combat. He brings lessons learned through his own tournament experience back to the Academy, helping newer fighters understand not only how to execute techniques, but how to apply them under pressure.
Like the best instructors, Vince remains a student himself. He continues to train, compete, experiment, and evolve while helping the fighters around him improve. That combination of competitor and teacher makes him an important part of the Saber Light Knights instructor corps.
